This is how you preserve the past! Ah if only we had flat screens back in the 80s.

I’m consumed by pangs of nostalgia! I bought my speccy in 1984 with insurance money I got for pretending my bike had been stolen…(well it had been stolen, but then I spotted it outside the police station a few days after reporting it and stole it from them myself - they never told me they’d ever found it, I guess they were too embarassed ;-). I put all my speccy paraphernalia in boxes (there’s loads of it) sometime in the early 90s, and presumably it’s all still up there in my parent’s attic…I’m going home to see them this weekend, I feel an Atic Attack coming on!! :-)

Holy crap! You genius. I wangled £200 when my bike got nicked, saw the guy riding it but never thought to get it back again.

Yeah I think I got my 128k in 87/88; after a brief but poor run-in with a commodore Vic-20. I was all about Jet Set Willy. Aint seen a game for so long…we should do a Spectrum sesh!

A few years ago I paid a tenner to some bloke in Newcastle for a CD containing ever single piece of commercial software ever produced for the speccy (as well as lots of non-commercial stuff like every ‘type in the code yourself’ game published in Crash and YS, etc). They’re all .z80 files for use with emulators - it’s all on my laptop at home taking up virtually no space :-)

I’ll do a copy and send you it if you like?

Ooh yes please…that would be awesome. £10 for years of happiness.

    Wasn’t Alan Shearer was it?
