About
My name is Ian Applegate, thanks for even getting this far….
My family and I have recently moved to London. My lovely lady Rachael, Ruby and I are currently trying to squeeze in an awful lot in to 24 hours a day whilst at the same time attempting to live together in harmony
I work in London as an freelance Digital Project Manager during the day, looking after website development and online marketing for a range of clients.
I am passionate about web standards and design, and equally fascinated by the direction the web is moving, in terms of design, user input, e-marketing, online journalism and 21st century politics.
With this in mind, I have attempted to build a number of sites for people. A few examples here:
- Rad Apple LTD
- vert-i-go pedicabs
- The Bohemian Cafe, Sheffield
- PurlyQ.com - free vintage knitting patterns online
- Boomshanka Tribal Bellydance
I also manage an online retail business; getatrowel.co.uk (GAT). Along with my consultant Nick Oodian and sublime web designer Andrew Pendrick I have created the UK’s leading archaeological supplies company, selling everything from the treasured WHS trowel through to the Italian-made Battiferro. The ultimate goal of GAT is to become not only the biggest supplier of archaeological tools and trowels, but to become on online resource for archaeologists. By engaging with the end user and creating an online community through a number of web tools, we aim to create a loyal and dedicated customer-base.
My family are very important to me and occasionally I like to see them! I am guilty of taking far too many pictures of my daughter, but as you will see from the photos I am lucky enough to have two very beautiful ladies in my home.
Rachael is due to begin her Masters in Design History at the V&A this Autumn.
If you, for some reason, want to get in touch, do so here.
